Today is National Bavarian Crepe Day! A Bavarian crepe from Bavaria is called a palatschinke. Not a true crepe but a crepe-like thin pancake common in Central and Eastern Europe. The main difference between this variation and the classic French crepe is that the batter is used right away rather than letting it rest before using. Though typically sweet, there are savory versions.
These crepes are similar. We are making a nice sweet thin pancake and turning it into a breakfast sandwich with lots of BACON! It’s like a French breakfast burrito only better because instead of a tortilla you have a thin sweet pancake.
So give crêpes a go this weekend. Click here to see recipe: http://www.amateurgourmet.com/2013/07/breakfast-crepes-with-eggs-bacon-and-cheese.html
