    Bacon Tequila Cocktail! Happy National Tequila Day! Lets Celebrate, BACON Style and Bring Home the Bacon in a Shot Glass!

    Ingredients

    1-1/2 parts añejo Tequila
    Maple syrup to rim glass
    Caramelized Bacon bits to rim glass (see recipe below)

    Preparation

    Rim shot glass with maple syrup, then dip rim in a plate of carmelized bacon bits.
    Fill shot glass with tequila. Drink up: You deserve it.

    Caramelized Bacon Strips Recipe:

    Warning: one pound of bacon seems to disappear—it’s irresistible. It can be prepared several hours in advance. Mince pieces for the cocktail rim.

    Ingredients

    1 pound thin-sliced bacon
    1-1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed

    Preparation

    Preheat oven to 350°F.
    Place sugar in shallow pan. Coat bacon strips completely on both sides.
    Place bacon sticks in a large broiling pan or on a rack set atop a pan. Cook until brown, turning once (about eight minutes per side).
    Transfer to a clean rack to drain. Serve warm or at room temperature.
